It's leftfield paw thread, sol information technology comes off dextrorotatory. If memory serves its a 1 7/8" nut, you can steal a wrench, make one out of several 1/4" brand, use an affect hammer and chisel, pipe spanner, or rent a tool at an auto parts store. There are a fair number of duds discussing various slipway to get information technology murder, be careful because if you denude information technology its a bunch harder to get off. It's tight simply with the right tools not unfortunate.

As has been mentioned, you can rent the tool around from nearly auto parts stores. But, to make life easier, ask them to rent you the tool you need to keep the fan from spinning while you're disagreeable to turn it. Makes life much easier. I rented them from O'Reilly. The ric was a undersized loose on the prehend nut, so I wrapped one of the forks with some duct tape and was estimable to go.

im not at the hand truck, the fan itself is broken in half, so essentially on that point is incomplete a fan, and the clutch part of the fan is gouged prepared and the bolts sheared off where the fan connects.

Sorry to red around this. So your locution tha broken fan unsuccessful the bolts that holds the fan to the clutch?? If then thats ok. The tools necessary to remove the nut frome the water pump shaft is as posted. 1 7/8. The early holding tool fits over the bolts that holds the block to the water pump. It covers the foreign of the bolts and locks the pulley then it can't turn but information technology will move. I use a 24 and 36 inch circuit breaker bar when I withdraw the fan clutch from the pumps. One prevention gets latched on whatever I can incu on the front of the engine and the other turns loose the nut. You might neediness to replace the piddle pump too. The shaft Crataegus laevigata have been bent when information technology came apart. Thats easy to check if there is a knack shaft. Just turn information technology and watch for crusade. Most here wish use few blue loctite on the nut duds. Then 160 lbs of torque is whats required for a tight winnow nut. These engines have extremely high compression so they shop abruptly when we fold the engine. That sudden stopping of the heavy fan sometimes will loosen them. And so they fly into the radiaters. Immediately will live a great fourth dimension to establis an aluminum radiater overly. The Champion Radiaters are a fair apportion. Many have gear formulate for them. And the cost is right at $200.00. predestined bests the current Cu brass radiaters for cost and cooling ability.
